This term we have been creating our own visual Pepeha's. A Pepeha tells a story about our background. The students used themes from their New Zealand and Home culture. They then wrote their own Maori introduction (Mihi). Plus they have written their Home Language introductions. Our next step is recording our Mihi's and home language introductions. There will be more Pepeha and introductions to come within the next week.
We are a class of 34 Years 5 & 6 Students at Christ the King School from Auckland, New Zealand. We are a hard working class that enjoys sharing our learning with you. We look forward to an exciting year ahead.

Visual Pepeha
Today some of the class worked on their final stages of their Visual Pepeha. The students dyed the sky blue. The Visual Pepeha have turned out very well. The pastels make a bold bright display. Our next steps are writing our own Pepeha in Maori and also writing an introduction in our home language.

Swimming at the Dean Greenwood Swim School
Today we had our first swimming lesson at the Dean Greenwood Swim School. It was so much fun starting from where we finished off. Today we focused on developing confidence in the water and floating. We used the noodles. Some of us were able to float on our front and back. We are looking forward to the next nine lessons.
