Zariah's Time on Planet Earth

( I am pretending I am from another planet)

Hi Mum and Dad,
I am having a great time on planet Earth. I have found
incredible things on this planet. The sun shines on my face,
fresh air blows through the sky and weird colours grow on
the grass. From space, the blue looks like water and the
white looks like marshmallows that are made out of small
drops of water. I’m just going to call them clouds. I dug
down and Earth is made out of, Nickel, Iron, Silicon,
Magnesium, Aluminum, Oxygen, and other minerals. When
I was studying this planet, I found out that planet Earth
was formed 4.54 million years ago. I am not the first person
to visit planet Earth. I heard a guy named Adam and a girl
named Eve visited this planet first. On other planets, they
have more than one moon but surprisingly Earth only has one
moon! Earth is not a perfect circle and it has mountains and
islands. They are called landforms. Us humans could live here
, it's perfect! They have plenty of food. Planet Earth has
plenty of fresh air that we breathe and could live on. It has
been fascinating learning about Planet Earth.

Zariah

This afternoon my group and I performed an re enacted the play Little Red Riding Hood. This movie was created by Tausala, Cleo, Huia and Betty. It took us two days to practise our words off by heart. I  played as the wolf, Cleo  played as Little Red Riding Hood, Betty  played the Narrator and Huia played the grandma. This was a really fun experience and I hope to do it again.

Ana's time on Planet Earth

Dear Mum,

I am on Planet Earth and I am having a great here.
There are hot countries and cold countries here.
I have learnt a lot from visiting Planet Earth. Earth has a lot
of strange and beautiful creatures. We have blue oceans.
The green is full of nature. The white are clouds which are
made out of water. Earth is pretty warm. It is the third planet
from the sun. I have the sun shining on my face several times.
Earth is 149.6 million km away from the sun. The name Earth
is derived from both Engish and German words. Planet earth
is made out of many things. It is made out of nickel, iron, rock
containing silicon, magnesium, aluminium, oxygen and other
materials. The earth was formed 4.54 billion years ago.
The first people on earth were Adam and Eve. Earth has
1 moon. Here are some facts about Earth:

It's not a perfect circle.
It has landforms.
It's the only planet we can live on.
Earth is the third planet from the sun.
Animals can live on planet Earth.

I have really missed you here on Earth.
I wish you could come and explore my journey with me.

Anna's time on Planet Mars

Dear Dad and Mum,

I am having a boiling hot time on Planet Mars. My bag is stuffed with bottles with water. I am
proud to be the first human to step on the dusty surface of Mars which was formed 4.5 billion
years ago. Only robots and spacecrafts have visited Mars. As you know Mars’ nickname is
“The Red Planet, but do you know who Mars was named after? Mars is named after the
Roman God of war, Ares. Mars is 227.9 million kilometres from the sun. There is something so
amazing about Mars. Mars has glaciers! There are 1300 glaciers on the surface of Mars.
Like Earth, Mars have moons, but not only one but two called Phobos and Deimos. I have
some work to do now.

See you when I come back from space.
Bye!

Anna

Juliana's Postcard from Mercury

Dear Mum and Aaron,

I am having the hottest time on Planet Mercury and I really want
water! I can see the sun so close to me. It feels like am standing on
hard rock. I see 763 craters on Mercury. I am not alone, as I am with
my friend Athena. I am trying not to jump much because then I
will sweat even more. I heard Mercury is 4.503 billion years old. It
looks like it is 3032 miles long. It is almost as big as the USA. I feel
like it is spinning slowly. I can't wait to get home and see you.

Love from,

Juliana
