Our Well Being Artworks

During the past seven school days, we have been focusing on creating self portraits based on Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein (Pop Art) theme. We had to come up with one feeling on how we felt upon returning back to school after Covid 19 or how we felt during the lock down. We used the book: The Way I Feel By Janan Cain, to base our emotions and poetry around.

The Lame Man Story By Ayla

Once upon a time, there was a man who would sit on the entrance of the temple. He would ask if he could have any money. Peter and his friend were walking into the temple. They hadn’t recognised this man before. The man asked, “Do you have any money”? Peter spoke calmly to the man and said, “I do not have any silver nor gold but I will give you what I own, stand up and walk”. After Peter said that the man then stood up, and started walking and talking about how Peter healed him. The three men then walked out of the temple and the people were surprised because they had never seen the man walk before. Peter had talked about how this was Jesus’ doing. That day the crowd grew bigger and bigger. The priests had got annoyed because they didn’t believe John and Peter so they arrested them. The next day they asked lots of questions to Peter. Later they freed them because there was no real crime committed by them healing the lame man. They had told them to never talk about Jesus or they’d be punished. They weren’t scared because they knew that God was more powerful so they preached about Jesus wherever they went.

My Favourite Toy By Melody

This my favourite toy because it's big and fluffy. I can hug him. I don't take him everywhere with me
and I don't want him to get dirty. Every time I want to watch YouTube I just lay on him because he
feels like a blanket to me. His name is Henok. My uncle gave him to me for my sister's birthday,
so I didn't feel left out. My teddy bear's age is ten.  He's going to have the same birthday as me on
February 26th. Henok sits on my bed.

My Holy Spirit Drawing By Trelia

Jesus knew he was going to be ascended  into heaven but he didn't  really care so he went to a quiet place and prayed. After a few hours or minutes soldiers came and carried him into a carriage. Then the next day he had to carry a big cross up to a big hill. It took him forever to do that. Once he carried it for ages, they put a spiky crown on him on his forehead which hurt him. That's when he started to bleed a lot, so that’s when a woman came and wiped his forehead. Then he kept on carrying the cross but there was a man that was whipping him with a rope. Once he made it, he climbed on a wooden step and went into sort of like a cross pose. Then he got nailed by the soldiers and blood started to rush down. Once they were finished he stayed like that until the soldiers knew he was dead. Then he got carried into a tomb and women bought nice smelling perfume.
