Blog Profile By Ayla

Hello, I’m Ayla. I am in a family of four. I’m the youngest out of my family. I have a mother, father and three older brothers. My oldest brother is named Lawson. He is sixteen years old. He is at Marcellin College with my second oldest brother Astyn. This year it is his first year. Astyn started school last Thursday. Finally my last brother. His name is Aden. He is my twin brother. You might see him around the school. He’s in room 2. My parents are both Samoan but my father is also a little bit German and Chinese. As a hobby I like playing video games like Roblox with my brother Aden, my friends and my cousins.

I enjoy writing. I can’t say I’m the best at it but I’m definitely good at writing. I enjoy drawing and painting, especially art. A challenge for me is trying to study harder but I’m up for it. My goal is to study harder so I can get into Marcellin College with my twin brother.

Something I’m looking forward to is taking part in the cultural dance this year, if we have one. It’s fun to watch others perform.

Budding Artists at Work - Visual Pepeha

Last week we started sketching our own visual Pepeha. A Pepeha tells a story of the places and people you are connected to. The students drew a mountain, a river, a cross, and cultural patterns, that represented them. This week some of the students have been learning to use the pastels to blend colours together, to create an amazing visual effect. We look forward to sharing our Pepeha Artwork when it's complete. In the upcoming weeks we will also be writing up our own Pepeha in Maori and will be introducing ourselves in our home languages.

Student Chromebooks

Happy New Year!

We are looking forward to welcoming your child back into the new school year. We hope you have had a lovely summer break. These last few weeks the weather has been superb.

Rooms 1 & 2 are the digital classes.
We will be using Chromebooks on the first day of school - Monday February 3rd. The children will be updating their blogs and will be creating Blogger Profiles during this week.

Please ensure your child's device is fully charged, and is in its case.
Chargers are to be left at home.

Chromebook sign up under the Ako Hiko Trust is available to all Year 4 students and those who are new to Christ the King School. Eligibility is from Year 4 upwards. You can sign up at the school office.

If your child's Chromebook is faulty or has been damaged during the holidays, please bring it to the school office. We will get our technician Tim to look at it and will inform you over whether it needs to be sent away to be repaired.

We would like to thank you for your support over this matter.
