More of our amazing Artworks featuring: Athena, Teddy, Kale, Patrick, Ceazah-Blue, and Meron

We are almost nearing the end of creating our enlarged super hero images. There are only a small handful of students to go with completing their enlargements. It has been a fun rich project over this term. There has been so much learning involved in creating the Super Heroes. The display in Room 1 looks amazing and now some of the Super Heroes have been laminated and are on the Room 1 windows. The students have learnt to: double measurements, create a grid using horizontal and vertical measurements, use co-ordinates, follow the gridlines and squares from the pre scaled image to the A3 image and paint within the lines.  We hope you enjoy looking at our amazing artworks.

My Family Trip To Rotorua
Image result for Rotoma

I remember the time when I went with my family to Rotorua. It was one of the most
memorable holidays, I have had in New Zealand. It took five hours to get to
Rotoma. It usually takes three hour to reach Rotorua but we stopped at Hamilton.
Rotoma is a place in Rotorua. In Rotoma there were many hot pools. My family
and myself likes going to the hot pools. When we arrived at the hot pools we
changed in our bathing suits and put our clothes in the lockers.

It was a bright sunny day and it was the perfect day to go to the hot pools. We
went to the geothermal hot pools. The hot water and the steam made me feel
like I was in a spa. I didn’t want to enter the pool because the water was burning
hot. After some time my body got used to the water.

There were two other families in the hot pools, I made some friends there. We
were splashing water at each other. Then we were playing some games in the
water. We had so much fun. We played some games like the mirror game and
we also had some races with each other.

The water was 40 degrees. My body got all wrinkled up like a prune. The water
was shallow. There was a fence where bubbles were coming out. My sister and
I were popping some of them. I didn’t want to get out of the water, but I had to.
So we got changed and went to eat some lunch.

Lesina's Wonder Woman Enlargement Reflection

Enlargement Super Hero Art

  1. What did you accomplish? I accomplished following the grid
lines and achieving to finish it on time. I accomplished having a
full drawn and painted picture of Wonder Woman.

  1. Are you satisfied with your Super Hero enlargement?
Why / Why not? Yes, I am satisfied, because I made sure she
looked like a woman and I followed the grid lines.
She looks like a real cartoon of Wonder Woman.

  1. What did you find easy when you created your Super
Hero enlargement? I found outlining in vivid the easiest part
because I didn't have to use the grid lines anymore.

  1. What did you find challenging when you were creating your
Super Hero enlargement? I found drawing the hips of Wonder
Woman challenging because they had to be the right size.
Drawing within the gridlines was difficult too.

  1. What do you need to work on? I need to work on the hips
because they are very slim and the arms are very muscley.
The waist and arms look very uneven.

  1. What would you change with your Super Hero enlargement?
I would change the arms to make it them the right size.
The hips and the arms are too big.
But overall I like my Enlargement picture a lot.

7. What would you do next time to improve superhero
enlargement? To improve my artwork, I need to follow the
gridlines and make it look like the image on the A4 paper.
I need to make the hips more wider.

Our Amazing Artworks

This term we have been learning about enlargement. As a fun activity we had to enlarge a favourite Super Hero. We had a choice of which Super Hero we would like to enlarge. The Super Heroes were: Cat Woman, Wonder Woman, Super Man, Spider Man and the Hulk. We had to measure and rule a grid at the beginning. Then we had to follow the co-ordinates and grid lines to make our Super Hero. We had to refer to one square at a time. This task wasn't the easiest to do, but the end results have been worth it.

Super Hero Enlargement Project

The focus for this term in STEAM has been on Enlargement. We have integrated maths and art together to create these Super Hero paintings. The students were given a small image of a super hero. They then had to rule up a grid and use the squares (co-ordinates) to draw up each segment of their image. It was a bit like a jigsaw. The Super Heroes we have been drawing are The Hulk, Superman, Cat Woman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

Super Hero Art

This term we have been learning about enlargement as part of our Maths and Art project. We have been using comic book super heroes to base our artwork on. The comic book heroes are: Wonder Woman, The Hulk, Superman, Batman, and Cat Woman. We have had to make accurate measurements by ruling up a grid and drawing to scale. The scale drawing entails following the squares carefully to get the effect. It hasn't been the easiest task, but so far we are showing plenty of persistence and determination.
