Passion Project: Some of our flower pots completed

Today we had some of our students plants their Impatiens into their painted pots. The pots look simply amazing. The plants now are the students responsibility to look after and water them until the end of the term. We are looking forward to watching the flowers grow. There will be plenty of red and white flowers by the end of the year.

Places that bring me Joy

These are the places that would bring me Joy. During the last two weeks I have been learning about creating special effect photos. In week 1 Mrs VK and Miss Paton took photographs of me posing outside. We had to pretend that we were in a special place overseas. I used remove bg website to create my special effect pictures. Here is my photo album.

Teachers plant the seeds of Knowledge that will last Forever

Earlier this year, we welcomed Anna into Room 1. Anna came from a school in Christchurch called St Teresa's School. Her Teacher Miss Paton, worked at St Teresa's School seventeen years ago as a Teacher Aide after graduating with her degree. Six months later, Miss Paton started her teaching journey up here in Auckland and hasn't looked back. Since leaving St Teresa's School she has kept in contact with one of the teachers who use to work at the school. A beautiful friendship has blossomed. Over the holidays one of the staff members from St Teresa's organised a get together. Miss Paton's friend asked the organiser whether she could come along. The organiser said yes.

Over the tea cups I asked the organiser (teacher) whether she knew Anna.  The teacher's eyes lit up and she said "Yes". It was absolutely wonderful to share the Mother Teresa movie with her and to show her Anna's blog. She remembered teaching Anna as a new entrant. This teacher went the extra mile while Miss Paton was down Christchurch and delivered a surprise gift (notebook) to Miss Paton's parent's house. This notebook was packed in the suitcase ready for it to be transferred into the work bag.

Yesterday it gave me great pleasure to give Anna the little notebook and the little card that the teacher wrote.  It is simply a small world. It was great to be the deliverer of a gift to one of my students. Anna you sure have left a wonderful impression at St Teresa's School.
