How the wind changed is about a boy named Josh who loved making awful faces. The characters in this story are his Mum, Dad, Grandma, his next door neighbours dog, the postman, and the robber. The setting in this story was his home. One day he found out how good he was at making faces because of the dog next door. The dog did not like Josh. Josh made an ordinary scary face at the dog and scared the dog. Josh was surprised when he frightened the dog so he went to his Grandma to show her how pleased he was at the dog-scaring-face he made. Grandma reacted with a screech. She batted him over the head with her newspaper. Everyday he practised trying to make an awful face. He then tried it on the Postman, his Mum and his Dad. His dad told Josh if you're going to make a face and the wind changes it will stay that way. One day Josh made the most hideous face of all, but then the wind changed and no matter how hard he tried to squash it back into shape, it just stayed the way it was. Josh was so thoughtful he decided to cover his face so he couldn't scare people. Then he reached the bank, and there was a robbery. Josh took his red hanky and scared the robber and made him drop his gun. Just then the wind changed and Josh was back to an ordinary boy. I rate this book a 4 out of 5 because I enjoyed the book. I didn't like the scary faces that Josh made. My favourite part in the story was the ending when he saved the bank. Josh and his Dad became heroes. I recommend this book to anyone because it is interesting, funny, scary and weird. I have never read a book like this before, that's why I like it.
