Science: Making a Lava Lamp

This afternoon in Science we learnt about the reaction when water and vegetable oil mix together. This process is called emulsion. We did this by making a lava lamp. During the lesson we added a Berocca tablet and some food colouring into the water and oil. The Berocca caused an amazing reaction when it was mixed with water and vegetable oil. We found out that the vegetable oil was less dense than the cooking oil. The oil would always float on the top of the bottle.
