Girls Self Defence Day

Today we had Julie from the Women's Self Defence Network to work with our Years 6, 7 & 8 girls. The girls learnt a range of techniques to protect themselves in situations which involve assault. They learnt ways to project their voice as a weapon, a range of kicks and punches that they could use in difficult situations, as well as what to do if they were being followed, strangers knocking on the door and if they were grabbed from behind. It was a great day, with lots of valuable learning. We are looking forward to our next lesson on Wednesday.
