AJ's Coding Experience

My Coding Experience

“Yay! I’m so excited to be here today and have a great opportunity like this” I said to myself.
As we got to our destination at the Cordis Hotel in the city,
there was a lady named Sarah who welcomed us and led us into our coding room.
“Wow!, the room is big and is full of cords and laptops!”
From what I could see, today was going to be very fun and exciting.
The first thing we did was we sat on the mat and there was a guy named Michael,
who talked to us about what we were going to be learning.
Then Me, Melianna, and Ferah did rock, paper, scissors, to see who got to talk on the radio
which unfortunately didn’t happen in the end.
We learnt how to code and we also learnt how to make a Ghostbusters game.
We used an app called Scratch. I had used the app before, but I had never made a game
using it.
We had to do all sorts of things like choosing a background, choosing a Sprite/ Sprites (Character/s)
and also picking out some cool music. The theme I had gone for in my GhostBusters game was to be
spooky and scary at the same time. It was pretty cool to play around with the app and we
also had
instructions which made everything a whole lot easier. Everything was quite interesting
because it was nice to learn some new things with different people.
Speaking of different people, we got to meet some people from many different countries.
These specific countries were also known as the D5.
The D5 consists of five countries which are:
South Korea, New Zealand, Estonia, Israel, and the United Kingdom.
There were also camera people videoing us and taking photos of us.
When most people completed their game, some of the girls presented their work to the rest of
the class.
The point of the game was to capture the Ghostbuster/s and when you catch them/ it , you score points.
It was so much fun at the cordis hotel and I would love to go back there again!
