On Friday each student in Room 1, had to write a prayer acknowledging Why Christ the King School is a good school. Here is Angel's Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We thank you for all our creative students and talented teachers we have been
blessed with. May we continue to follow our school values and strive to be the best of our
abilities and to serve god and grow each day.
Lord hear us
Response: Lord hear our prayer

Ethnicities / Cultures in Room 1 Maths By Angel
My Interpretation
In this class more of the students are Samoan. Less people are Filipino. Tongan and other have the
same amount of people. Four people were Tongan or fitted under the other category. Other includes:
Indian, Canadian, European, and Chinese. The Samoan category has a total of eight people. The
Filipino category was the lowest. It has a total of two people. In this area (Mt Roskill) there are more
Pacific Islanders than other cultures, and also there is a big amount of Islanders that are Christian
(Catholic) that go to church here at Christ the King, so this could be some reasons why we have more
people that are Samoan than other Cultures.

Values Prayers By Angel
For Religious Education we had to make our own prayers of the faithful and we had to make it up and it had to be a prayer related to our four values. We also used The C.T.K Way poster to help us with our prayers and this is how my prayer of the faithfuls turned out.

Information Report By Angel
Introduction
Elephants are the world’s largest mammals which are animals that have fur
and live on land. Indian and African Elephants don’t have a lot common.
African Elephants live in the continent of Africa and Indian Elephants also known as
Asian Elephants live in the continent of Asia. African Elephants are much bigger than
Asian Elephants. Baby Elephants are called calves and like all mammals they drink off
their mother's milk. They are also hairy.

smell and hearing. Baby calf Elephants are 2-3 feet tall.
Diet
Elephants are herbivores that are animals that feeds on plants.
All Elephants eat twigs, bark, leaves and fruit. They eat more than their Appetite.
Elephants weigh upto 12,000 pounds and they drink upto 30 gallons of water everyday.
Family
There are two different types of Elephants which are African Elephants and Asian
Elephants. Male Elephants are called bulls. When the Male Elephants grow older they go
their separate ways and do things by themselves. African Elephants have wrinkly skin but
Indian Elephants don't have as much wrinkly skin as African Elephants do. The Indian Elephants

hump back.
Endangerment
One hundred Elephants are killed per day, and there is up to one hundred Elephants
that are being slaughtered at least once a day. Indian Elephants population is on the tip
of the cliff for extinction. This is due to people killing the elephants to get their tusks for ivory,
then they trade the ivory to get money. If Elephants tusks break they can grow back,
only if the root of the Elephants tusks isn't damaged. Poaching is more aimed at Male
Asian Elephants because only the male elephants carry tusks that grow big. Poaching and
killing these Elephants is mostly done in Africa.

Conclusion
In my opinion I think Poaching should stop immediately, people should stop and think
before going and killing these animals. People need to think about this before killing
harmless animals/Elephants. We need to admire these beautiful and wonderful animals,
they do no harm to us so why kill them. The elephant population is under threat. In time we
will have no elephants to admire and view if this poaching does not stop.

Algebraic Art By Angel
Making a sequential pattern -
Romero Britto
- Are you pleased with your artwork? Why / why not?
Yes because It looked amazing after I had completed my artwork,
and it had a lot of different patterns, warm colours and it was really
fun to do.
2. What was challenging when you did your sequential pattern artwork?
It was quite hard to paint the small patterns, it was challenging because the
majority patterns were all tiny so it was hard to try and paint without
going over the bold lines.

going over the bold lines.
3. What could you adapt / modify with your artwork?
I would add much bigger and better patterns so it would be
easier to paint. If you were to look from far it would be nice
and bold.
4. Who / what helped you with your sequential pattern artwork?
Some of the presentation on senior hub site that Miss Paton
put up, I also searched up some of Romero Britto's artwork
and I got some ideas from it and I added it into my piece of art.
5. If you were to teach a new person how to create your artwork under your
theme (Romero Britto) what would be the teaching points / tips?
theme (Romero Britto) what would be the teaching points / tips?
- Create lots of sequential patterns
- Do patterns that are based around what your current theme
- Repeat some of the colours you use
- Use warm and bright colours.
- Make your patterns nice and bold for others to see
6. What have you learnt about this process?
To do big and bold patterns. Be more creative with what patterns
I do. Also to take my time when I paint so I don’t ruin my artwork.
Paint within the lines.

Argument about plastic on our environment By Angel
Argument on Plastic in our school
The impact of plastic on our environment is repulsive. You need to understand
the impact that plastic rubbish has an impact on our oceans. Scientists have
discovered and believe that in 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in
our oceans “There are more pieces of microplastic in the sea than there are
stars in our galaxy” So let’s make a change about this big situation, that a lot
of people don’t care about our world. I vehemently believe and encourage others
that we must all put our rubbish in the right bin and use less of plastic and more
reusable items.

Families could try and reduce using plastic bags, glad wrap, and aluminium foil.
So families from our school should now start reusing items for lunch like reusable
ziplock bags or reusable containers. Also Families could create a litter free lunch
box by not using plastic items. In my opinion, I suggest that all families should
start buying lunch boxes that have little compartments in them. I think that
having these lunch boxes at our school is a good choice and it could make a
big difference.

For example, in your lunchbox with little compartments you could have things in it
like fruits, nuts, or sandwiches. Another name for these types of foods are known
as “nude foods”. Nude foods are foods that are not wrapped up in plastic, such
as glad wrap, plastic wrappers, etc.

In my opinion, if I was a parent I would absolutely agree on buying this lunchbox
because it is a lot cleaner, cheaper and would make our school a better environment.
Our school would look a lot cleaner with less plastic laying around our school
than usual. Overall would you want to live in a world full of plastic everywhere
you go? If not, then why keep littering? What’s the point on trying to reduce
using plastic if everyone is just throwing their rubbish everywhere like our world
is a big fat dumpster.

Do you want to reduce using plastic? I do, all I want is for everyone to be around
a safe and litter free school. Do you want to make a change? Well I strongly
believe that everybody can help make a big difference and make our surroundings
a better space to be around everyday. At the end of the day I am trying to get a
message out to everyone, so that each and everyone of you can put some effort
into making our school a better, cleaner, healthier and a litter free school.

I am quite disgusted to even be on this earth, seeing people purposely throwing
their rubbish on the ground as if it’s a rubbish bin, seeing people walk past plastic
rubbish on the ground as if it’s invisible. This is horrific and it’s really disturbing.
Sometimes just seeing people doing this, always makes you think twice about what
you are doing. One piece of rubbish, could kill sea and land animals all around our
world. Animals could risk becoming extinct due to the rubbish that they consume.

Plastic can also block our sewage system. These wrappers can pollute our
water as they cannot decompose. We could get very sick if our water is not clean.
I am really passionate about having a clean environment, where plastic is not
polluting our oceans and sea animals can swim freely.

So I suggest you start using less plastic, and start thinking more on
how to make our environment a litter free school. STOP ruining God’s wonderful
creation that he has given us to live and to protect, and to also stop hurting
God’s precious land and sea animals that we are killing daily.
DO YOU WANT TO SAVE OUR EARTH FROM PLASTIC? So start now and make
a difference by just doing something little as in not leaving your own rubbish
behind and if you see a plastic rubbish on the floor “see a need, respond and
pick it up”. “Serve God and grow” Respect God’s beautiful creation because
God did not make us come into this world to damage and to ruin his creation.
Be the bigger person and do what is right. Keep our environment clean today.
